Senior Governance Professional for Regional Council

The Manager, Governance and Risk will lead the council's governance, corporate risk, and compliance functions. This role involves overseeing statutory compliance, managing insurance portfolios, and providing high-quality governance advice to executive teams.
Key Responsibilities- Leading governance frameworks, including Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Plans
- Managing the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee (ARIC) and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance
- Overseeing statutory compliance, corporate registers, and integrated planning/reporting obligations
- Acting as Public Officer and managing Freedom of Information (GIPA) and Privacy matters
To be successful in this role, you will require tertiary qualifications in governance, law, policy, risk management, or business, combined with demonstrated experience in governance, legal, or administrative roles involving risk management practices.
- Post-graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated skills in mentoring and developing staff
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement, discretion, and confidentiality
