About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Counsellor and Community Outreach Specialist to join our team. This is a key leadership role that requires exceptional leadership, guidance, and support to our Clinical Team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will oversee a multidisciplinary team, including students, volunteers, and professionals. As a seasoned counsellor and community outreach specialist, you will lead by example and promote BaptistCare's values through your work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Clinical Team, supporting them in delivering integrated, holistic wrap-around support to vulnerable communities.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the hub, ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate expertise in problem-solving, high-level client intervention skills, advocacy, and knowledge of the service sector to drive successful outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree or diploma in counselling, social work, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working in a counselling and/or community-based case worker role.
  • Mental Health First Aid accreditation and Trauma Informed Care training (or willingness to participate).
  • Child Protection training/knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to work within an integrated approach that is person-centred and includes strengths-based narrative practice.
  • Experience working with women from CALD backgrounds (sex workers, DV, LGBT+ communities) or individuals experiencing complex concerns.
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare's Christian identity.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $85,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also have access to professional development opportunities and be part of a dynamic team making a positive impact in the lives of others.
