About the Role

The NSW Government seeks an experienced Intellectual Disability Clinician to join our team in the Murrumbidgee District. This is a maternity leave relief opportunity, working in partnership with the incumbent clinician and is open to a range of Allied Health Professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inform and guide mainstream health staff on delivering care for people with intellectual disability and their carers and families.
  • Lead the development of clinical practice for patients/clients with intellectual disability and their carers and families in any hospital or site in the local health district.
  • Link with Western NSW LHD Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team to develop and deliver outreach in the district.
  • Provide multidisciplinary assessment and care planning for people with complex health needs and intellectual disability.
  • Build the skills, confidence, and experience of mainstream clinicians through outreach services.

Strong clinical expertise in intellectual disability care.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Knowledge of policies and procedures related to intellectual disability care.Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care.
