Our client is an international insurance brokerage and consulting firm operating in over 60 countries.

The company has a partnership with more than 130,000 Australian businesses.

We are looking for a Business Development Officer to join our dynamic team.

The purpose of this role is to provide support to clients as part of the new business acquisition team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop strong relationships with clients by contributing to new business acquisitions.
  • To prepare submissions and quotes for new business opportunities.
  • To establish and maintain networks with relevant business contacts including insurers.
  • To contribute to the development of revenue budgets and monitor achievements against these targets.
  • To manage databases, information systems, and organisational records ensuring all activities meet determined parameters.
  • To gather client information to support new business documentation.
  • To proactively manage and resolve client issues including responding promptly to enquiries.
  • To ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Financial Services Act.
  • To stay informed about industry trends through attending meetings or events.
  • To identify improvements or enhancements to processes or procedures.
  • To make decisions on how and when to escalate problems or grievances or create cross-marketing opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Sales driven with understanding of targeted and strategic selling processes.
  • Client servicing skills.
  • Developed business acumen and business development skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical competencies and insurance products.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
