Gallagher Bassett, a leading third-party administrator in Australia, is seeking an experienced Claims Consultant to join its dynamic Liability Specialty team. This 12-month maternity leave contract offers a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to make a meaningful impact.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will manage a portfolio of liability and negligence claims, providing expert support to agencies managing Specialty claims. They will interact with legal panel firms, attend claim review meetings, and undertake pre-mediation preparation. Additionally, they will interpret public liability and professional indemnity policy wordings, advise insured clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving, and settlement, and liaise with third-party providers.
What You'll Need- A deep understanding of CTP, life insurance, or workers' compensation, including liability assessment, calculation of damages, and litigation;
- Solid relationship management skills, with a minimum of 2 years of claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity;
- Tertiary education, preferably with a law degree;
- The ability to read documents quickly and translate information effectively;
- Autonomy and strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- ANZIIF qualifications are highly desirable;
- An understanding of claims management processes and exposure to complex claims management for Institutional Defendants.
