We offer services in early intervention, foster care, youth support and NDIS services. Having served the local community for 30 years, we're looking for a collaborative leader who can think big-picture to help us enhance and expand our operations within existing and new communities to meet rising needs and growth in our services.

About the Role

As a Child Protection Specialist, you will be part of a team that works dynamically across the child protection spectrum. You will work with carers, families and service providers to help children and young people reach their goals.

A Day in the Life of a Child Protection Specialist

As a key member of our team, your typical day could include:

  • Visiting children, young people and carers in their homes to build strong relationships and provide emotional support
  • Collaborating with a diverse team to share knowledge and insight to achieve best outcomes for children and young people
  • Documenting children and young people's goals, journey and milestones to track progress
  • Supporting carers and families to help them achieve permanency so children and young people have a stable home life

About You

To be successful in this role, you need to be resilient, dedicated and passionate about making a difference in a young person's life. We're looking for someone who is a strong team player, has a great sense of humour and is willing to go the extra mile for the young people you support.

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following criteria:

  • A commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability
  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent qualification
  • An understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families
  • Sound interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a high-performing team
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues and the NSW Child Protection system
  • A current driver's licence

Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year (dependent on experience), based on industry standards and location
