Parenting Capacity Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Parenting Capacity Specialist to join our team in delivering intensive skill development interventions to vulnerable families.

The goal of the program is to address the infant's developmental, safety and wellbeing needs by providing case management and outreach support.

  • Develop creative assessments tailored to the family's level of skill, learning style and areas of concern
  • Prepare high quality reports for Child Protection and Courts

In this role you will work collaboratively with other professionals to provide a holistic service that meets the unique needs of each family.

You will be working with families on a one-to-one basis, providing them with the tools and resources they need to build stronger relationships with their children.

This is a permanent part-time position based in Croydon, VIC.

The standard hours are 9:00 am – 5:06 pm, with some outreach appointments outside business hours.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in your application you will meet the person specification in the position description and have the relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development/Community Welfare, or other equivalent.

  • Current driver's license valid in Victoria
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Excellent knowledge of theories relevant to working with infants, children, young people and families
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act and related requirements
