This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with families from diverse backgrounds and build their parenting confidence and community connections.
About the JobWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Support Parenting Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our Universal Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Enhanced MCH teams, you will be working closely with families to promote healthy child development and provide support to parents.
- Facilitate Inclusive Parenting Groups: You will design and deliver inclusive and engaging parenting groups tailored to meet the diverse needs of families in our community.
- Home-Based Support: You will provide home-based support to families, building their confidence and capacity to care for their children.
- Promote Healthy Child Development: Through play-based learning and parental guidance, you will support families to promote healthy child development and reduce the risk of developmental delays.
- Community Building: You will identify opportunities to build community connections and foster a sense of belonging among families.
- Facilitate inclusive and engaging parenting groups that meet the diverse needs of families.
- Provide home-based support to families, building their confidence and capacity to care for their children.
- Promote healthy child development through play-based learning and parental guidance.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure wraparound support and optimal outcomes for families.
- Lead and participate in community education initiatives that promote health, resilience, and connection across the municipality.
- Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood, Social Work, Allied Health, Community Development or related field.
- Experience working with families in outreach or early childhood settings.
- Strong understanding of child development, parenting support, and play-based learning.
- Ability to engage families from diverse backgrounds in a non-judgmental and inclusive way.
- Strong group facilitation skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and child protection protocols.
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence and valid Working with Children Check.
