
Student Development Psychologist

Our department is seeking a skilled and dedicated psychologist to join their team at Applecross Senior High School. As a key member of the Student Services team, you will play a vital role in promoting student learning outcomes, wellbeing, and mental health initiatives across all year levels.
Key Responsibilities- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to promote effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement tailored strategies to support high-performing students manage academic pressure and maintain wellbeing.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of whole-school wellbeing programs, ensuring alignment with the school's core values.
- Collaborate with the Student Services team to identify emerging needs within the school community and develop responsive interventions.
- Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.

Selection Criteria- Demonstrated ability to implement psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximize student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group, and system-level intervention.
- Demonstrated high-level written and oral communication skills, including producing correspondence, reports, and case notes, and conducting interviews and training.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment, and analysis, intervention, and evaluation.
