Job Overview

The University of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist and Data Manager to join its team. This is a fixed-term, full-time appointment for a period of two years, with a salary range of $113,063 - $140,000 per annum, plus superannuation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of a large Australasian chronic pain outcomes dataset.
  • Manage and analyze data using SAS and R, with a strong focus on quality improvement and methodological innovation.
  • Develop and implement automated workflows to integrate statistical results into other environments.
  • Collaborate with the Applied Statistics in Health team to drive data-driven decision making.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree with a strong mathematical/statistical component, preferably at postgraduate level.
  • Demonstrated experience in data management, project management, and data analysis and modeling with large datasets.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare system.
  • Experience with automated workflows and statistical software.
