Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the importation of goods via ocean freight. As Senior Ocean Freight Import Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing shipment level activities, ensuring timely cargo movement and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • To coordinate and complete all shipment level activities including receipt of customer booking, documentation requirements, and all related local and international transport.
  • To lead the planning and execution of seasonal protocols, liaising with origin offices, customs brokers, and shipping lines to ensure compliance and timely cargo movement.
  • To ensure accurate and timely reporting of import cargo, maintaining visibility across shipments and supporting internal and external stakeholders with relevant updates.
  • To manage EDO handovers and oversee billing activities, ensuring documentation accuracy and alignment with operational timelines.
  • To ensure the implementation of necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodity and locations for shipments.
  • To build and maintain strong relationships with CFS and shipping lines to streamline import operations, resolve issues, and optimise service delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as experience in ocean freight import management.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
