Freight Import Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Specialist to join our team at our Sydney location.

The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for allocated customers, responsible for creating, managing and closing job files in a timely and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities include responding to customer inquiries and concerns regarding their bookings, escalating issues as necessary to ensure prompt resolution.

The successful applicant will be tasked with completing all bookings and preparing relevant documentation in accordance with customer requirements and established standard operating procedures (SOP). This will involve maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with safety, legal and regulatory standards.

Main objectives include achieving on-time delivery performance targets, accurately documenting transport operations, minimizing freight costs while maintaining exceptional service levels, fostering strong relationships with customers and suppliers, and contributing to ongoing process improvements.

To excel in this position, you will require a minimum 3 years' experience in freight forwarding/logistics, proficiency in Cargowise, excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Managing multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records;
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Providing exceptional customer service;
  • Collaborating with internal teams to achieve shared goals.
