The Job

We are seeking a General or Clinical Psychologist to work ideally two days a week. The successful candidate will provide therapy to clients with eating disorders, trauma, suicidality, and other complex mental health issues.

Our current room availability is Monday afternoons, Tuesday all day, Thursday mornings, Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide counselling and assessment services to individuals in a private practice setting
  • Utilise evidence-based approaches in therapy
  • Work with eating disorders from an anti-diet/non-weight-focused lens
  • Prepare professional documentation (GP letters, reports, and case notes)
  • Practice in alignment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency standards
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and supervised support
Requirements
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Medicare Provider number eligibility (either now or in the next 2 months)
  • Current ABN (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Current indemnity insurance policy (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Alignment with Exhale's values of offering treatment that is neuroaffirming, LGBTQAI+ inclusive, and Health At Every Size (HAES)/non-weight focused
  • Experience in evidence-based treatments (CBT, ACT, DBT, SSCM, FPT, EMDR, or Schema Therapy)
  • Strong professional boundaries with patients
