About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Developer to join our team at the Government Of New South Wales. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our state's revenue management agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical direction and strategy for the development team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies to enhance product capabilities and improve customer experiences.
  • Make technical decisions in line with project goals and architectural standards, ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop integration architecture blueprints and patterns to guide the implementation of integration solutions, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange between different software systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration solutions meet business requirements and adhere to best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and innovation in integration solutions, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective software solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience working across multiple business domains, with a strong understanding of cloud computing platforms and microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of server-side languages, front-end frameworks, and cloud-native development practices, including serverless computing, containers, and Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Expertise in RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with a strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing within agile methodology using CI/CD pipelines, with a strong understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with business partners, stakeholders, and team members.
