First Nations Cross Platform Journalist

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced First Nations journalist to join our team as a Cross Platform Journalist. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultural protocol and the ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, research, write, edit and produce high-quality news, interviews, and feature stories across linear and digital platforms.
  • Generate, develop, and pitch ideas for original content that centre and elevate First Nations voices and perspectives.
  • Build and maintain strong networks within Indigenous communities and organisations across the country.
What We Are Looking For:

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced journalist with a deep understanding of Indigenous culture. You will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work under pressure.

Requirements:
  • Advanced communication skills and proven experience in journalism and/or media broadcasting.
  • Understanding of or experience in camera, sound, and editing systems.
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous Cultural Protocol.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and meet strict broadcast deadlines.
