Project Planner/Scheduler Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Project Planner/Scheduler to join our team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will be an expert in developing and maintaining accurate project schedules, with 7-15 years of experience in scheduling.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • • Perform critical path analysis and scenario planning.
  • • Track progress, identify delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • • Prepare reports that support project end users, project management, and the executive, including milestone and variance tracking, earned value analysis, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • • Facilitate workshops for schedule development/update and recovery.
  • • Integrate with the project team, including project/construction management, contracts/commercial, project controls, stakeholders, and approvals.
  • • Utilize Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • • Preferably use Power BI for advanced reporting and visualization.
Requirements
  • Key Qualifications:
  • • 7-15 years of experience in scheduling.
  • • Expertise in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • • Expertise in Excel.
  • • Preferably experience with Power BI and reporting.
  • • Preferably experience in preparing and running Schedule Risk Assessments.
  • • Preferably experience in project management software, such as InEight.
  • • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • • Experience in mining, energy, water, or infrastructure projects.
