Fleet Controller Job Description

About the Role

The Fleet Controller will be responsible for planning and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our Ground Transport division at Orchard Hills NSW. This includes ensuring the effective utilization of CEVA sub-contractors and contract carriers to meet customer and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and manifest the timely and efficient delivery of freight to ensure DIFOT and cost management targets are achieved
  • Book additional ad-hoc transport as required
  • Ensure the dispatching depot is provided with manifests and appropriate paperwork
  • Liaise with depot supervisors and team leaders to ensure timely loading of PUD vehicles
  • Ensure all incidents, hazards, and non-compliances are reported and corrective actions implemented in a timely manner
  • Investigate and resolve service and/or operational issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure runs are compliant with all statutory and company requirements, including driver fatigue and load restraint
  • Ensure critical processes are completed in our Transport Management System within required timeframes

Requirements

  • Basic to intermediate skills in MS Office applications, and capable of learning new systems and working with technologies generally
  • Good written and verbal communication, time management, and customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, know when to seek advice, suggest solutions, or escalate as required
