Research Postdoctoral Position in Statistics

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the field of statistics. As a key member of our research group, you will contribute to the development of novel statistical methods for modern complex data analysis.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Alan Welsh and other investigators to design and implement robust statistical estimation techniques. You will be responsible for developing and applying mixed-effects models, distributional regression, and stable prediction under error-prone data conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A PhD in Statistics or a related field;
  • Excellent programming skills in R or Python;
  • Strong understanding of statistical theory and computational methods;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Benefits

This is a full-time, fixed-term position lasting 2 years and 8 months. The salary package includes $78,940 – $99,083 per annum plus 17% superannuation. PhD holders will receive a loading to Academic Level B1.

Working Conditions

The role is based at the ANU Acton Campus in Canberra, Australia. You will have opportunities to collaborate with leading researchers in the field and participate in international conferences.
