Job Summary

">This is an opportunity to join a research team as a statistical and epidemiological expert.">
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate (Health Services Research/Epidemiology) to work within the Population Child Health research group at UNSW. The successful candidate will provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.">

Key Responsibilities:">
  • Provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.">
  • Design, conduct and manage research activities including surveys, literature reviews, data collection and analysis.">
  • Disseminate research outcomes through appropriate channels and present at conferences/workshops.">
  • Support preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.">
Requirements:">
  • A PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics or related discipline, and/or an appropriate level of expertise gained from experience, training and/or professional accreditation.">
  • Competency in statistical software (preferably R, SAS and/or Stata) and experience working with large datasets.">
  • Experience in design and evaluation of trials would be beneficial.">
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines with diverse stakeholders.">
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality academic research (study design, grant writing, ethics applications) and to work independently with limited supervision, including managing priorities and attention to detail.">
  • Commitment to staying up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.">
  • Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.">
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to relevant health and safety training.">
