About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Residential Care Team at SCC Bucklands Site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager to direct and deliver nursing care to our clients.
- Lead and supervise support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan.
- Assess residents' conditions and functional abilities, identifying and managing risks, and discussing with relevant staff/residents or representatives.
- Ensure optimal use of medications, monitoring for adverse effects, and administering in a timely and safe manner.
- Provide leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
- Ensure clear and succinct handovers from shift to shift, with relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlating with progress notes, alert notification forms, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans.
- Ensure all staff read and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Nursing, current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, and at least 1-2 years of experience working in an Aged Care environment.
You will possess sound communication skills, a high level of English literacy, and exceptional time management skills to manage your workload and support other staff.
As an ideal candidate, you will have outstanding problem-solving skills, a high understanding of supporting residents living with dementia, and excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge.
