Indigenous Banking Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our Indigenous Customer Assistance Line (ICAL) team as an Indigenous Banking Specialist.
The ICAL team provides a relevant banking service for remote Indigenous customers in Far North QLD and surrounding islands, NT, WA & far North SA. As an Indigenous Banking Specialist, you will build and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous customers and communities, ensuring they have access to the Bank's wide range of products and services.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include delivering outstanding customer service, answering questions about banking, promoting self-service options, and identifying issues and service gaps. You will also work with stakeholders, Community and Government Services, to support the bigger picture of assisting Indigenous customers with their everyday banking.
To be successful in this role, you will have highly developed written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated customer and community engagement skills, and the ability to work in collaboration with communities, stakeholders, and other government and non-government agencies.
This is a hybrid role, working from home and a local Branch or Office. You must reside within an hour commute of our Katherine Branch.

In this team, your knowledge and understanding of Australian Indigenous communities, cultures, and the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People will be valued and applied.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you'll:
- Be committed to assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, communities, and individuals with accessing inclusive self-service banking options.
- Ensure that communication and information to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples/communities is culturally appropriate and effective.
- Conduct presentations and liaise with internal stakeholders across the Bank.
- Build rapport quickly – the ICAL team is busy, so working out your customers' needs and taking that enquiry from end to end is critical.
