Culturally Sensitive Mental Health Professional

The Aboriginal Family Violence Mental Health Practitioner provides support and services to Aboriginal clients experiencing mental health issues within family violence contexts.
This includes comprehensive assessments, creating connections with mental health resources, education on mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and complex trauma, as well as case management support throughout the process.
This role plays a key part in developing and improving mental health and substance abuse services within family violence programs, working collaboratively with the team to achieve better outcomes for communities facing poor mental health and substance abuse complexities.
Requirements
- Understanding of and commitment to values underpinning our vision and purpose.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures and societies.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in mental health, substance abuse, trauma-informed approaches, and culturally safe therapeutic interventions.
- Demonstrated experience in service development and coordination.
