Blast Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Blast Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day blast activities and personnel to ensure mine safety and production targets are achieved.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a focus on ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. As Blast Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing blast plans to optimize ore extraction, ensuring alignment with production schedules and goals.
  • Ensuring all blasting activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Leading and supervising the blast team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to maintain high levels of productivity and morale.
  • Maintaining blast patterns and associated equipment in a safe condition.
Key Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years proven leadership experience with a strong safety focus.
  • Schedule 26 Statutory legislation exam and risk management units of competency completed or in process.
  • Experience with both Nonel and Electronic firing and Blast Controlling essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor personnel.
  • Shotfirer ticket, Dangerous Goods Security Card - storage, transport and handling of explosives experience.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
