About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Contract Administration Support Partner to join our team at Darebin City Council. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing contract administration, monitoring and reporting on contract activities, and providing training and guidance to officers throughout the Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract administration from awarding the contract, monitor, update and finalise contract information at completion.
  • Monitor and report on contract activities and ensure activities are following policies, procedures and manuals.
  • Deliver training and guidance to officers throughout Council that have responsibility for undertaking procurement activities.
  • Assist with Procurement related projects as required.
  • Facilitating Council's purchasing processes, review requisitions and providing advice and guidance to internal and external staff.
  • Ensure that the purchasing activities of the Council are conducted in a controlled and coordinated manner and according to relevant policies and procedures and Best Value guidelines.

Requirements:

  • A sound knowledge of purchasing systems, processes, and techniques as they apply to best practice.
  • Experience in Local Government practices is highly desirable.
  • Analytical and attention to detail skills around identifying accumulative spend.
  • Sound experience in purchasing practice and policy development.
  • Licenses, certificates or qualifications e.g. Tertiary qualification in Community Services
