Greenpeace Australia Pacific is seeking a dedicated individual to join its Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the cultural, political, economic and social context of the Pacific and be able to commit to approximately 15-20 hours per month.
About the Role- Ensure the organization's mission remains clear, relevant and aligned with changing times.
- Provide strategic guidance on setting the direction of the organization.
- Monitor programmes and activities to ensure alignment with the organization's mission.
- Set objectives and performance indicators for senior management and review their performance regularly.
- Oversee the use of resources required to carry out the organization's mission.
- Comply with governance standards.
The organization's annual financial reports are available online. The Board meets at least six times per year, and all members are required to be part of the General Assembly.
Selection Criteria- Mandatory: Deep understanding of the Pacific context, sufficient time commitment.
- Favourable: Experience in environmental campaigning, governance skills and networks.
The successful candidate will be appointed for a three-year term, with the option of re-nomination for a second term.
