About the Role

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) is the national regulator of Commonwealth subsidised aged care services. Our primary responsibility is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care by holding providers to account for their performance, including compliance with legal obligations.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of People and Culture to lead and coordinate a broad range of human resources functions, enabling the Commission to achieve its strategic objectives through the effective and efficient provision of strategic people management and support across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, lead and coordinate human resources functions, including workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, Work Health and Safety (WHS), workplace relations and management of HR matters.
  • Contribute to broader organisational and strategic management, providing expert HR advice and playing a key role in establishing a supportive culture and a positive working environment within the Commission.
  • Develop and maintain essential policies, processes and practices, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and best practice HR management.
  • Provide high-quality advice to senior management, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Monitor emerging issues, identify their impact on priorities and respond using sound judgement.
Requirements
  • A detailed understanding of, and a track record of effective delivery of, best practice HR management, and a strong grasp of its legislative basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and implement a broad range of contemporary people management programs, policies and operational practices.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively and to understand and bring clarity to the communication of complex information.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to monitor progress, manage resources effectively and deliver timely, high-quality outcomes.
