At BMD Constructions, the safety of our people is our top priority. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to assist our project teams in achieving health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) excellence. The successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder with excellent communication skills and strong technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSEQ standards that align with compliance and due diligence requirements
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Work closely with senior management to prepare reports and provide recommendations for improvement
- Motivate and educate BMD employees to champion best practice use of our systems
- Develop work method statements, project plans, and inspection and test plans
- Implement system changes and improvements to demonstrate continuous improvement
Requirements
- A qualification in work health and safety (minimum of Certificate IV)
- Knowledge of current legislation, standards, and industry requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a Safety Management role on civil infrastructure projects
Desirable Skills
- Qualifications in training and assessment
- Previous experience in water projects
