The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to lead the development and implementation of primary health care safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in policy development, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of a multi-strategy safety and quality program for primary health care, including the development of safety and quality standards for primary healthcare providers.
- Manage a small team to achieve the deliverables for this program, including providing supervision, coaching, and performance management.
- Work collaboratively with primary healthcare organisations and providers, national agencies, expert groups, associations, and professional bodies to develop primary care safety and quality standards.
- Support the Commission's National Standards Program work streams, managing risks and identifying and resolving issues.
- Provide secretariat support and participate in the work of expert working groups or workshops convened for the development of national arrangements for primary healthcare initiatives and national standards projects.
- Extensive experience in policy development or complex project management at a national or state/territory level.
- Highly developed analytical skills and conceptual ability, with the demonstrated capacity for strategic judgement.
- Demonstrated high-level understanding of safety and quality standards and accreditation schemes.
- Superior writing skills and secretariat skills, including the preparation of policy papers, agenda, and minutes.
- Well-developed ability to communicate with influence and cultivate productive working relationships with stakeholders.
