Commercial Contracts Manager Position

Job Summary:

The Senior Commercial Contracts Administrator provides expert technical contracts administration and oversight for commercial activities within allocated projects, reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager with a delegation to support projects in delivery.

This role involves administrative tasks such as preparing and reviewing contract notices and variations, maintaining commercial registers, ensuring performance and delivery of project scope, assessing event impacts, managing claims and extensions of time (EOTs), supporting accurate progress claims, forecasting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating prompt issuance of subcontracts and supply contracts, ensuring compliance
  • Driving contract management processes, including variation and change claims
  • Collaborating with internal teams (procurement, finance, legal, controls)
  • Assisting in negotiations and dispute resolution; providing data for upstream claims

Requirements:

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Law, Commerce, Engineering, or similar
  • Extensive experience in commercial/contract management for construction, services, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with InEight is advantageous
  • Expertise in both traditional and collaborative contracting
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communicator in multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of warranty, defects, acceptance, testing, and commissioning
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams to resolve issues
