About The Team

The Planning and Regulation department's City Planning branch is responsible for long-term strategic planning and policy development to manage growth, conserve natural resources, and protect heritage.

About Your New Role

As a Modelling and Visualisation Analyst, you will assist in modelling support for the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) and various projects, including the 3D Digital Urban Twin development. You will also be responsible for maintaining aspects of the Planning and Urban Growth (PUG) model.

If you are interested in collaborating within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, this role may suit you. You will work alongside professionals with specialized skills in policy and research, contributing to exciting projects, urban analytics, strategic thinking, and financial sustainability.

  • Develop and maintain LGIP future growth scenarios, including urban growth modelling, mapping, and analysis.
  • Contribute 3D urban modelling expertise to support the City Planning's Urban Twin, including City Engine rule development and GIS integration.
  • Assist in key projects relating to the PUG model, including draft land use planning and other related planning scenarios.
  • Apply sound corporate project methodology when assisting with various projects.
  • Develop and review multiple scenarios to support strategic planning and project proposals.
  • Simulate scenarios within 3D environments to inform decision-making.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into 3D planning solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with City standards, safety regulations, and design guidelines.
  • Identify areas for improvement in 3D planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Contribute to a culture focused on high safety and wellbeing.
