Principal Level P1 - Islington Public School job vacancy exists at a diverse community situated on Awabakal land in the inner city of Newcastle.

The school has 159 enrolments operating within 7 mainstream classes. We celebrate diversity with our population including over 10% of students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect and 4% identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders.

The school's FOEI is currently 32, with an increase in families from a higher socio-economic demographic giving the school an eclectic mix.

• Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

• Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

• Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

• Supportive school leader who prioritises developing a strong sense of belonging to meet the diverse needs of all students.
