Community Football Development Manager

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the development and implementation of coach education, development pathways, and player experiences at a community football level across the Northern Territory. This position requires strong stakeholder connections, knowledge of Australian Rules football, education, and administration, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

About the Role
This exciting opportunity will see you leading the development and implementation of a Territory-wide coaching strategy and plan. You will work closely with the AFL Game Development Coaching team and NT community football stakeholders to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your expertise to develop and implement a coaching strategy that enhances the player and coach experience at a community football level.
- Support volunteer coaches by providing targeted education and development opportunities, focusing on Junior and Youth teams.
- Foster links with the AFLNT Talent department to ensure appropriate pathways and opportunities are available for coaches and players.
- Drive best practice standards with respect to coaching and player experience-related matters within community football.
- Develop processes and structures that support the growth and development of new coaches, through to talented coaches.
- Contribute to the success of the broader Community Football team.
Requirements
- Stakeholder connection experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in Australian Rules football, education, and/or administration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience in establishing systems and processes to support people and pathway development.
- Experience in creating or further developing positive environments.
- Previous experience or accreditation in coaching (any sport) is desirable.
- Tertiary education in education, sports management, or significant relevant experience in these fields.
- Confidence to educate and influence multiple and diverse stakeholder individuals and groups.
