Football Development Program Lead

About the RoleThis position will oversee the development and implementation of coach education, development pathways, and player experience initiatives at a community football level across the Northern Territory.
- The ideal candidate will lead the creation and execution of a territory-wide coaching strategy in collaboration with the AFL Game Development Coaching team and NT community football stakeholders.
- The successful applicant will support volunteer coaches by providing targeted education and development opportunities, focusing on Junior and Youth teams.
- Foster links with the AFLNT Talent department to ensure appropriate pathways and opportunities are available for coaches and players.
- Collaborate with the community football leadership team to drive best practice standards in coaching and player experience within community football.
- Develop processes and structures to ensure development pathways for new coaches, ranging from beginner to experienced coaches.
- Support and contribute to the success of the broader Community Football team.
- Leverage partner AFL Clubs of the NT to connect the community with elite football and provide development opportunities to community football and pathway-level coaches.
Requirements
- The successful candidate will possess stakeholder and people connection experience.
- A demonstrated knowledge and skills in areas such as Australian Rules football, education, and administration.
- Strong interpersonal, communication skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience in establishing systems and processes to support the development of people and pathways.
- Experience in creating or further developing positive environments.
- Previous experience or accreditation in coaching (any sport) is desirable.
- Tertiary education in education, sports management, or significant relevant experience in these fields.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, leading, and delivering curriculum aligned to the organization's broader objectives.
- Confidence to educate and influence multiple and diverse stakeholder individuals and groups.
