Alma Nove Sous Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Alma Nove, a new fine dining restaurant in Manly. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and production of meals, managing food supply and stock ordering, and assisting the head chef in new menu production and menu tasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and production of meals in the restaurant
  • Manage and coordinate food supply and stock ordering
  • Assist the head chef in new menu production and menu tasting
  • Ensure effective stock purchasing and waste control
  • Assist in the training and mentorship of junior and apprentice chefs
  • Oversee the writing and costing of all kitchen rosters via Tanda
  • Set high levels of work ethic standards by adopting a 'Hands On' management style
  • Produce all dishes to a consistent standard
  • Ensure all kitchen activities meet the organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years experience in a similar role with relevant experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and high volume environment
  • High energy, passionate with a strong work ethic
