Overview

A successful Agricultural Crop Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving ongoing planning and operations within large-scale row-cropped fruit or vegetable cropping settings.

Salary

We offer an excellent salary package, commensurate with experience, to attract top talent. Estimated annual compensation is $120,000-$180,000, depending on qualifications and location.

Job Description

The General Manager - Row Cropping Operations successfully drives ongoing planning/cropping operations:
  • Ensuring timely paddock preparation/sowing/crop management/harvest & packhouse liaison within specification, budget, weather and operational constraints;
  • Undertake all daily cropping operations management including liaison with maintenance; and direct management of all agronomy; grower; irrigation and cropping personnel and all third-party contractors – including ensuring all staff's OH&S, operational performance & contract compliance;
  • Successfully work with finance to undertake all related budgeting/planning/purchasing for cropping operations; crop inputs; staffing and related contracting; and
  • Ensuring all Site WHS; food safety standards, including HARPS and Global Gap are met.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You ideally have 5+ years' experience in a related large-scale row-cropped fruit or vegetable cropping operations with preferably related qualifications. Experience with related farming enterprise planning software plus MS Excel, MS Word is highly desirable. You are a natural leader; good communicator, and easily liaise with a broad range of people.
