Senior Mental Health Clinician Job

We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team, working closely with psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists in correctional centres.

The role involves delivering high-level clinical services, managing complex assessments and interventions to support wellbeing and safety of adults in our centres.

This position requires the ability to apply behaviour change models, develop support plans, mentor team members and maintain professional development.

About This Role
  • You will be responsible for assessing and intervening with individuals experiencing mental health issues, providing advice and undertaking clinical consultations as needed.
  • You will work independently to provide guidance and support to other team members, promoting a supportive environment and developing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills within the team.

  • Lotus Glen Correctional Centre - Mareeba
  • Maryborough Correctional Centre - Maryborough
  • Woodford Correctional Centre - Woodford

What We Are Looking For
  • A Bachelor of Psychology or related field, or a Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Possession of a registered health practitioner number (RHP) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of theories, models and research related to behaviour change techniques.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a correctional setting.
