Achieving Leadership Excellence in Science Publishing

CSIRO seeks a visionary leader to shape the strategic direction of its publishing arm. As Director, you will be instrumental in driving business growth, transforming scholarly journals and books programs, and fostering innovation across the industry.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy aligned with CSIRO's organizational goals. Identify opportunities, manage risks, and secure resources to support long-term objectives.
  • Business Transformation: Lead the transition to a sustainable open-access model for scholarly journals and implement a financially viable commissioning strategy for books.
  • Commercial Management: Drive commercial success through market analysis, partnership development, and financial management. Ensure timely decision-making to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within a high-performing team. Develop and coach team members to achieve exceptional results.
