Project Coordinator - Livestock Genetics Development

Job Description:

This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Project Coordinator – Livestock Genetics Development. You will be responsible for working collaboratively in our organization to develop strategies and implementation plans that address industry priorities for genetics and genomics within the red meat industry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation;
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders, research organizations, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of research outcomes;
  • Assisting with management of the National Livestock Genetics Consortium (NLGC) Taskforce;
  • Facilitating and managing the Livestock Genetics Project Call process where required;
  • Representing our organization at industry events, including forums, workshops, seminars, field days, and conferences;
  • Preparing reports and papers for the Livestock Genetics program for internal use and key industry stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of project management principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, project management, or a related discipline;
  • At least 2 years of experience in project coordination or a related field;
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
