Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Speech Pathologist to join our Ambulatory Rehabilitation team as an AHP2 Speech Pathologist Home Rehab. As a member of our team, you will provide comprehensive speech pathology services for patients receiving supported early discharge and home rehabilitation in the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.

You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to plan and provide therapeutic interventions based on patient goals, while also managing service procedures, facilitating research, and leading quality improvement projects.

This role involves utilizing technology like videoconferencing to provide specialist services to rural and remote areas of South Australia, adopting a rehabilitative approach aligned with the "Statewide Rehabilitation Clinical Network Rehabilitation Generic Core Competencies Framework."

About the Role
  • Assessing patients' communication and/or swallowing abilities, problems and goals using a variety of formal and informal assessments.
  • Devising therapy programs and supervising therapy assistants in their implementation of these.
  • Providing Speech Pathology services to Home, Outreach and Telerehabilitation patients.
Salary

The successful candidate will receive a salary of $88,255.00 - $102,240.00 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An appropriate degree or diploma in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Experience as a clinician in the assessment and provision of high-quality rehabilitation to patients with complex communication and/or swallowing issues.
  • Ability to critically analyse or evaluate issues related to Speech Pathology care and apply them to quality activities, service evaluation, professional education, or research.
