Job Description

The role of Senior Solution Architect involves leading the quality of solution architecture work across an organization. This entails providing technical leadership in designing and implementing systems and software to resolve business challenges. The position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience and a strong understanding of the landscape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering new functional solutions, and providing ongoing operational support for ICT solutions. They will ensure adherence to time, budget, and scope constraints while operating with a significant degree of independence and a high level of autonomy.

The role plays a pivotal part in leading and delivering complex application development projects across the Technology and Digital Program (TDP) Group that align with the agency's strategic objectives. Proficiency in architect fields such as cloud platforms, microservices, infrastructure, data, SAP, and enterprise integration is imperative.

The ideal candidate will have formal TOGAF Certification, strong knowledge and understanding of frameworks, legislation, policies, procedures, and information management requirements relevant to the nominated domain. Strong communication and negotiation skills, professional presentation skills, and substantial experience in architecture design are also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying the appropriate end-to-end solution portfolio, considering all relevant ICT solutions and service offerings.
  • Identifying solution gaps and developing gap closure options.
  • Architecting the end-to-end functional landscape and solution design to support desired business processes and business/ICT requirements.
  • Documenting, presenting, and discussing the end-to-end architecture and solution options, recommendations, and implications.
  • Facilitating and supporting the decision process.
  • Leading end-to-end solution analysis, design, integration, architecture, co-existence, and migration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Formal TOGAF Certification - optional

  • Substantial experience in architecture design, particularly within the context of large-scale government projects
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies, frameworks, and tools
