  • Provide architectural and design guidance across a suite of IT products
  • Lead cyber security and test & evaluation functions
  • Support DevSecOps practices and release processes
  • Mentor junior engineers in areas such as virtualization, containerization, and secure development
  • Investigate technical incidents and emerging technologies, providing advice to senior leadership
  • Review and approve product designs in line with assurance frameworks
  • Contribute to documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement

The Deputy Chief Engineer provides technical leadership across multiple product teams, supporting the delivery of secure and reliable systems. This role bridges engineering execution and strategic oversight, with responsibility for cyber security operations, test and evaluation, and architectural guidance.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in engineering or computer science
  • Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • A strong background in Windows/Linux environments, virtualization, and containerization
  • Network engineering knowledge, including SDN and security practices
