Assistant Principal Job Description

This role involves fostering a positive, inclusive and high-achieving school culture. Key responsibilities include contributing to strategic planning, goal setting and implementing initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving school culture.
  • Support the strategic direction of the school by contributing to collaborative decision-making, goal setting, and the implementation of initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.
  • Oversee the delivery of evidence-based practices, monitor student progress, and use data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Sponsor professional development, coaching, and mentoring for teachers while strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community.

The Assistant Principal will maintain a balance of instructional leadership, operational management, and commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for education.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Teaching or Master of Teaching required
  • NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) registration essential
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation necessary
  • Additional academic qualifications beyond Initial Teacher Education preferred
  • Practising Catholic connected to a parish or other worshipping community
