As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in pioneering business development activities and initiatives to drive growth across the Defence sector.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work in Australia's Defence environment and contribute to national security requirements. You will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies to achieve business growth in Defence, with a primary focus on winning and growing the Estate Works Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business development plans to drive growth across the Defence sector.
  • Collaborate with bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities are progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
  • Prepare professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures.
  • Build a well-defined pipeline of opportunities aligned with the 2025 Defence strategy.
  • Manage opportunities from initial identification to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to ensure awareness of changes impacting Defence Strategy and Business development objectives.

A high degree of analytical and problem-solving skills will be required to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities. A proactive approach to driving business growth and leveraging relationships within the Defence sector will also be essential.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in Defence or Defence-related field.
  • Strong systems and operational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree or diploma in engineering or related discipline (highly desirable).

While these attributes are highly desirable, they are not essential. We are open to candidates from a range of backgrounds who have relevant skills and experience.
