Position Overview

The role involves fostering strong connections with local and regional Indigenous communities, ensuring that Civeo's partners meet their contractual commitments while exploring business opportunities. Additionally, you will champion cultural awareness and promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and sustain relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and leaders in the regions where we operate.
  2. Support the organization's dedication to Indigenous reconciliation and diversity initiatives.
  3. Assist in the planning and implementation of programs that further reconciliation and diversity within the company.
  4. Collaborate with the GM Strategic Partnerships to serve as a bridge between the organization and local Indigenous stakeholders, including Joint Venture Partners, to build trust and cooperation.
  5. Participate in community events and networking opportunities to enhance local Indigenous connections.
  6. Provide information related to Indigenous content for tender submissions as needed by the team.
  7. Work alongside the Employee Communication and Indigenous Relations Manager to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving the objectives outlined in the company's Indigenous Strategy plan.
  8. Offer support to the GM Strategic Partnership and the CIS Leadership team.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Studies or a related discipline is preferred.
  2. Demonstrated experience in a strategic Indigenous relations or engagement position, focusing on managing relationships with Indigenous community members, groups, organizations, or businesses.
  3. In-depth understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
  4. Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  5. Capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  6. Experience in event planning and coordination is advantageous.
