Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at MACS Technologies Pty Ltd. as a full-time Permanent System Administrator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware systems, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Network Administration: Manage network servers, technology tools, and infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer.
  • Account and Workstation Setup: Establish and configure user accounts and workstations, ensuring secure access and minimal downtime.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and maintain systems according to established requirements, ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve technical issues and outages, providing timely support to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures, including access controls, backups, and firewalls, to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan, implement, and maintain system upgrades, ensuring seamless transition to new releases and models.
  • Technical Training and Documentation: Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies and create comprehensive technical documentation, including internal wikis and IT policies.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in IT infrastructure management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management, and system security, including intrusion detection systems and data backup/recovery.
  • Programming Skills: Ability to create scripts in Python, Perl, or other languages, and familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, and problem-solving aptitude, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) a plus.
