This leadership position is designed for seasoned project managers who thrive on steering complex initiatives to success. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in delivering meaningful impact for customers and the organisation. As a senior leader, your role will involve advanced critical thinking, planning, directing, and communicating to achieve the delivery of projects that satisfy business and portfolio objectives. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables that support business goals.

About the Role:
  • Lead and inspire project teams to deliver complex projects across the entire lifecycle, considering factors like complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with functions to achieve objectives with clear mutual expectations.
  • Demonstrate proactive and modern ways of working using tools and techniques to achieve high productivity within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Define project scope, success criteria, and deliverables that align with business goals in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement effective governance for project tracking and reporting to ensure timely decision-making.
  • Manage variance and change requests within control mechanisms.
  • Plan, control, and monitor costs and outcomes to meet financial objectives.
  • Engage and inspire the project team, providing clarity, direction, and attention while maintaining a collegiate work environment.
  • Comply with organisational governance requirements for reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Manage risks and issues to achieve optimal outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years' experience in project management, with 4-5 years as a senior project manager.
  • Experience in financial services, preferably in superannuation, wealth, and/or insurance.
  • Strong client-facing experience with a deep understanding of end-to-end SDLC.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with scrum master skills.
  • Strong core project management disciplines, including time, cost, scope, and quality.
  • Highly developed skills in planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and governance.
  • Proactive and dynamic leadership skills to lead multiple teams across diverse platforms.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to mobilise time, budget, and resources effectively.
  • Excellent written communication and formal documentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and credibility at all levels.
