About the Role

The Pastoral Care Coordinator is a leadership position that provides support to clients, families, team members, and volunteers across the Central Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assess and understand client/family spiritual and emotional needs, developing a tailored care plan to cater to their specific requirements.
  • To offer guidance and support to clients and families in need, addressing their spiritual and emotional concerns.
  • To collaborate with religious leaders to provide comprehensive spiritual support for clients and families.
  • To train team members on pastoral care principles, including boundary management, grief, loss, faith, hope, and other relevant areas.
  • To work closely with colleagues to enhance their skills in meeting the spiritual needs of clients.
  • To participate in staff meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events to promote opportunities for pastoral care.

About You

  • A strong commitment to our Christian mission and values.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals living with life-limiting illnesses, including dementia and carer journeys.
  • A personal and active Christian faith, with involvement in a local church community.
  • Theological or pastoral care qualifications and experience are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to provide compassionate and effective care to those in need.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and empathize with others.
  • Experience leading and supporting teams to achieve their goals.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills are essential.
