Operations Excellence Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Excellence Manager to drive business performance, optimize efficiency, and spearhead operational improvement in our fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

This leadership role demands strong strategic skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage high-performing teams across production, quality, logistics management, and production planning.

  • Develop and execute production plans to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) in safety, quality, output, and cost.
  • Ensure comprehensive machinery maintenance and pre-start checks are completed and documented.
  • Create and implement production processes, delivery schedules, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with inventory teams to ensure timely procurement of production components and raw materials.
  • Document and report forecasted production and delivery dates.
  • Lead, motivate, and engage teams to achieve individual, team, and site objectives.
  • Foster a culture of business excellence to ensure continuous results and performance enhancement.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across the site, ensuring workplace health and safety processes are in place.
  • Develop, track, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including labour optimization, overtime, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), throughput rates, and inventory.

A successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of operations leadership experience in food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing and logistics operations management.
  • Knowledge of concepts and methodologies relating to inventory management.
  • Thorough understanding of production planning within a food manufacturing context.
  • Strong continuous improvement background with good grasp of LEAN/Six Sigma and problem-solving tools.
  • Good commercial acumen, able to understand and manage finances.
  • Strong communication, coaching, consultation, and negotiation skills.
