As a key player in ensuring workplace health and safety, the successful candidate will provide expert advice and guidance to project teams and workers.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled HSE Advisor to join our team in Melbourne. We are a reputable builder delivering complex projects across various sectors throughout Australia & New Zealand.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting project teams and workers to eliminate or minimize hazards, educate and implement site workers on hazard identification, carry out and deliver project consultation processes, recommend corrective/preventive actions, support the Project Manager by identifying additional WHS training, assist project teams in building a strong safety culture, assist with preparation and review of construction methodology and SWMS, liaise with subcontractors, arrange audits and inspections, review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant and equipment, and identify WHS hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams and workers to eliminate or minimize hazards
  • Educate and implement site workers on hazard identification
  • Carry out and deliver project consultation processes including; site inductions, pre-start, and toolbox meetings
  • Recommend corrective/preventive actions to prevent hazards from escalating into incidents
  • Support Project Manager by identifying any additional WHS training
  • Assist project teams in building a strong safety culture
  • Assist with preparation, development, and review of construction methodology and SWMS
  • Liaise with subcontractors, arrange audits and inspections of work areas and activities
  • Review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant and equipment, and identify WHS hazards

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience as an HSE Advisor on commercial projects
  • Strong knowledge of WH&S Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards
  • Proven ability to be diligent, organized, and delegate where necessary
  • Passionate about safety and care
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
