RMIT University is a leading institution dedicated to education and research. We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Indigenous Access and Engagement to lead the entry and admissions processes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will report to the Manager, Indigenous Education and work closely with the Academic Registrars Group to support the access of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to RMIT. This role requires strong administrative skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as experience in project management and advising students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student access and engagement
- Provide guidance and support to students, staff and the community to achieve their educational goals
- Collaborate with the Academic Registrars Group to ensure accurate and efficient record-keeping and use of ICT packages
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines while working autonomously
Requirements:
- A degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field or extensive relevant experience working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community
- Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an understanding of community needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sensitive matters professionally and culturally sensitively
We offer a competitive salary package including a HEW 8 (from $106,000 p.a + 17% Super) salary, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for professional development.
